Cookie Policy

Effective as of 31 July 2026

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Quietaway uses and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage) works similarly. Some are necessary for the site to work; others we use only with consent.

2. How we ask for consent

On your first visit (or after you reset settings) we show a bar with:

  • Accept: enables analytics cookies (including session replay) and marketing (Meta Pixel).
  • Essential only: only necessary cookies remain. We may still run limited product analytics without cookies (see below).

We store your choice in the browser and in a cookie so the server can respect it. Change it anytime via Cookie settings in the footer.

3. Categories

Essential

Required for sign-in, language, security, and remembering your cookie choice. Without them the site may not work reliably. Legal basis: legitimate interest / necessity for the service you request.

Examples:

  • session cookie after sign-in,
  • locale,
  • cookie consent status cookie,
  • short-lived checkout acknowledgement before Stripe.

Analytics (with consent)

PostHog (EU): to see how you use the catalogue and improve the product. With consent we store cookies / localStorage and may enable session replay with masked inputs.

Without consent, PostHog runs in memory mode without cookies and without session replay. Operational data (for example IP at the provider) may still arise. We rely on legitimate interest for that limited measurement, as described in the privacy policy.

Marketing (with consent)

Meta Pixel and related Conversions API: campaign and conversion measurement (for example purchase). Used only if you consented. Without consent we do not load the Pixel and we do not send server-side purchase marketing events.

4. Third parties after you leave

When you open a host link, Airbnb, Booking, or third-party map tiles, those sites may set their own cookies. Quietaway does not control that. Their rules apply.

5. How long cookies last

Lifetime varies by type (session vs months). Marketing and analytics cookies follow PostHog and Meta settings and your consent. After you withdraw consent we stop using optional tools; you can also delete cookies in your browser.

6. Managing and withdrawing consent

  • Cookie settings in the footer opens the choice again.
  • You can delete or block cookies in the browser (some features may stop working).
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
